"... Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion..." Psalm 84:5-7 (NIV) - blue hightlights mine
'They make it a place of springs': springs in Scripture usually symbolize Life, refreshment, restoration, etc. which come from our unlimited source - Jesus, the Living Water. As we are pouring out our hearts and tears to the Lord in our Valleys (Ps.62:8), we can be sure that our tears are precious to Him (Ps.56:8). As we weep and grieve openly before Him (James 4:9,10), we increasingly sense His Presence and begin to recognize His love and almighty power. Hope is stirred in us as He lifts us up and the springs begin to bubble up in the desolate wildernesses of our lives...pools begin to form, and others are soon able to be refreshed through us as well as we are refreshed in the Presence of the Lord.
The Shadowed Valley - very helpful article for those going through 'valleys'!
