UNCLOGGING OUR WELLS - NOTE CARD
Does your heart feel like it's dried up? Perhaps your wells are clogged up?
Jesus said, "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." (John 7:38), and "Everyone who drinks this (water from the earth - my note) water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:13
Isaiah 12:3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Prov 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Our HEARTS are the wells in/of our lives - they can be very clogged up - by the lies of the enemy which keep us from believing and living out the TRUTH...HE is the Life. HE is the Word. HE is the Truth. Ephesians 5:26 "...to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word..." (of Truth)
As His Truth and Life increasingly replace the lies our hearts have believed, our hearts are unclogged - renewed and transformed by His Truth and the springs of His Life are able to increasingly bubble up into and through our wells as we become freer and freer. We can draw life-giving Water/Truth from these 'wells of salvation' since they are now producing life and truth instead of being clogged up with the fear and deceptions of the enemy who, as in the story of Abraham/Abimelech and the Philistines Gen. 26) had filled the wells with dirt (lies keeping us from the truth which sets us free). But Abraham's son Isaac unclogged the wells that the enemies had stopped up. May we, like Isaac, also see to it that our wells are unclogged (and which may still be somewhat clogged from previous generations) so that we and others may be able to draw life-giving water from our wells. We are to have His Living Water flowing through us.
