Are You WILLING TO DRINK MY CUP?

A question I sometimes sense I'm being asked by Jesus

"…Are you able to drink of the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized? "We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with..." Mark 10:38,39 (NIV)

Jesus sometimes marks our spiritual journeys with very sobering and faith-challenging questions as He asks us to re-consider the cost of moving into deeper levels of discipleship and intimacy with Himself. May our hearts find hope and courage to move forward, in those times, in the fact that just as God our Father strengthened Him to drink the cup of suffering that He was willing to drink for our total salvation, so He is very ready and willing to give us the grace and strength we need as we reach out to Him.

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
